Week 5 Technology in Music Education
During Week 5's Technology in Music Education seminar, SCMTME class had the privilege of watching and listening to Postgraduate Sydney Conservatorium of Music student, Lolita Emmanuel's performance of James Humberstone's Second Fantasia and what an impressive performance it was!
The project was set up in two parts; first, class 1 (of which I am a part of), set up cameras, microphones and lighting to prepare for Lolita's performance of Second Fantasia. We were as meticulous as we could be given time limitations of the seminar, in relation to ensuring audio quality was of high standard as well as frames and finer details such as scouring the Con for a cloth to clean the piano! Once we had recorded several takes of the performance with both audio and video recording, class 2 had the opportunity to listen to Prokofiev 6th Sonata which was the inspiration behind James' composition, as well as some time for a Q & A with James and Lolita.
